What are the unique cyber challenges and threats faced by the transport and aviation, and do organisations have the cyber maturity to protect themselves? Find out in our latest, research-based whitepaper.
Key Insights:
Our research uncovered the unique cyber challenges and threats faced by transport and aviation organisatons, as well as their level of cyber maturity.
- 86% of transport and aviation organisations have seen an increase in cyber security attacks since the war between Russia and Ukraine began.
- Only 58% of transport and aviation organisations are confident they can protect OT systems and on-premise infrastructure.
- Just 60% are confident they can protect cloud-based infrastructure.
To help organisations use this information to drive appropriate improvements in their cyber security posture, we've published this latest whitepaper.
Summary:
The transport and aviation sector has been through a period of significant digital transformation with new technologies, such as cloud services, enhancing operational capabilities and attack detection within Operational Technology (OT) systems. At the same time, the threat landscape has evolved rapidly in the last year with new cyber threats emerging, particularly from nation-state cyber warfare.
Our research has found that transport organisations are one of the most confident in their cyber security posture, with secure systems and processes in place. However, there is still scope for improvement – especially following increased staff shortages with specialist skills in cyber security, coupled with a significant increase in the volume of cyber attacks on the organisations themselves and through their supply chains.
With this in mind, it is appropriate for transport organisations to continually review their cyber security investments to see how they can increase maturity in response to these trends. This isn’t just to focus on the immediate challenges they face but to ensure that, moving forwards, security is embedded into operations from the outset and emerging threats are considered and addressed. This will enable a more robust business operation with confidence in
the ability to protect critical national infrastructure whether on-premise or cloud-based.
