Former European CISO for Santander, Emma Leith, joins Bridewell Board to drive the consultancy arm of the business, continuing the strong growth and industry reputation globally.
Reading, UK – 10 November 2022 – Leading UK cyber security services business, Bridewell, has strengthened its executive leadership team further by appointing a new Director of Consulting.
Emma Leith, a globally recognised cyber security leader with 17 years’ experience across security leadership, consulting and services, will join Bridewell with full ownership of the business’s consultancy capability. From 7th November 2022, Leith will assume her Board position, working closely alongside Martin Riley, Director of Managed Security Services, as well as the wider board, to continue the delivery of excellent client consultancy engagement and sustained growth across all consulting areas.
Leith has provided strategic leadership in a range of contexts, critical infrastructure and highly regulated environments, from financial services, oil and gas to global consultancy within Deloitte and BT Global Services. A former European CISO for Santander and Divisional CISO for BP, Leith brings complimentary, wide-ranging experience from an internal perspective, proving a deep understanding of the challenges faced by global boards, executives and Bridewell’s global client base. This will be a needle moving appointment for Bridewell and support its strategy of high growth and international expansion targets, which include a global growth rate of 50%.
The appointment comes as Bridewell continues to grow its market presence and team sizes, both in the UK and around the world. Earlier this year, they expanded into the $58 billion US cyber security market with the opening of a new office in Houston’s Energy Corridor in Texas. In addition, the recent opening of new state-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC) has provided Bridewell with a fivefold increase in capacity, helping the company scale in line with rapidly evolving client requirements.
Leith is the fourth senior appointment to Bridewell in the last 24 months, following Chairman, Paul Driver; CFO, Ruth Billen; and Director of Managed Security Services, Martin Riley.
Leith brings a deep ongoing awareness of business and security threats and trends, alongside her ability to translate this knowledge into risk and threat intelligence-driven strategic advice that can easily be digested and acted upon by senior audiences. Engagement will be fuelled further by Leith’s value-driven approach to leadership, in particular her strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the cyber security industry and her long-standing passion for solving challenging problems.
“Bridewell’s continued success in delivering flagship cyber security services in both consulting and 24x7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) on a national and international scale, means that it’s a very exciting time to be joining the organisation. My appointment as Director of Consulting will help to complement the Board and senior leadership, building a sustained focus on instilling consistency and excellence in our client engagements with industry-leading and expert-led delivery. I bring professionalism, thought leadership, and a drive to make a real difference, not only to the people within Bridewell but also to our clients and the wider cyber security and data privacy industries.”
Emma Leith, Director of Consulting
“Emma brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Bridewell and will play an instrumental role in helping us to deliver on our progressive growth plans. Her proven talent and passion for cyber security will be a tremendous asset to our existing and new clients, the organisation and will enable us to take our position in the global security market to new heights.”
